Digital sales is a rapidly growing business model for PAYBACK. At the Berlin site, there is a cross-functional team of Business, Product & Tech (also called Crew), which has holistic responsibility (you build it, you run it) for its products.
As the Lead Technical Owner for the eCommerce / Digital Sales domain, you will have professional responsibility for the technical part of the domain and the Crew TOs in the leadership role.
We are looking for a strong personality with an agile mindset, great communication skills and the drive to help build and shape the Berlin site.
YOUR TASKS
- You work in a Digital Sales Trinity together with the Domain Product Owner (PO - responsible for the product roadmap) and the Domain Business Owner (BO - responsible for business success)
- Take full technical responsibility for the domain eCommerce / Digital Sales, crews and products including decision-making and managing costs and value effectively
- Align domain vision and goals with company vision and goals and maintain visibility, measurability, and regular communication
- Be a visionary and driver for the future path of your domain
- Be responsible for the technical strategy of the somain: Develop and maintain the technical product application landscape across platforms, ensuring alignment with connected systems
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and related subject matter experts to deliver high-quality software solutions
- Participate in architectural and design discussions: fostering knowledge sharing and best practices within the team
- Contribute to DevOps/SRE Pipelines and CI/CD Processes: continuously improve these processes to enhance efficiency and reliability
- Monitor and maintain application performance and stability
- Ensure compliance with regulations including legal, GDPR, auditing, accounting, and cloud improvement processes
YOUR PROFILE
- 7+ Years in a Lead Tech Position
- Customer-oriented and strategic thinking: ability to define and push a vision, drive transformation, and carry the team along
- Strong and proven hands-on experience in backend development including designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms, with an openness to full-stack development (& nice to have mobile experience)
- Strong understanding of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL), SQL, and ORM technologies (e.g., JPA2, Hibernate)
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g. GCP) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform).
- Strong problem analysis and solving capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to take ownership and lead effectively
- Ability to understand the technical impacts of requirements, including architectural, security, and performance considerations
- Ability to make decisions based on customer value and ROI
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills: with a high sense of responsibility, self-initiative, and a passion for learning and contributing to a growing team
- Fluent in English
