Digital sales is a rapidly growing business model for PAYBACK. At the Berlin site, there is a cross-functional team of Business, Product & Tech (also called Crew), which has holistic responsibility (you build it, you run it) for its products.

As Technical Lead for the eCommerce / Digital Sales domain, you will have professional responsibility for the technical part of the domain and the Crew TOs in the leadership role.  

YOUR TASKS

  • Assume full strategic responsibility for the eCommerce / Digital Sales domain, as well as the associated products and teams
  • Provide technical and disciplinary guidance to up to 10 engineers, supporting their professional development, and building a high-performing, motivated team
  • Make the final architectural and technological decisions for the domain and be responsible for the further development of the technical application landscape across all platforms 
  • Ensure the domain’s vision, goals and priorities are clear and closely aligned with the corporate strategy – including transparency, measurability and regular communication
  • Provide technical guidance to the Technical Owners and ensure a coherent technical vision across the entire domain
  • Responsibility for your domain’s technical strategy and ensure coordination with all related systems
  • Foster a strong culture of ownership, in which teams take responsibility and can develop in a stable, secure and scalable manner
  • Work closely with the product and business owner for your domain


YOUR PROFILE

  • As an experienced technical leader, you have several years of line management experience
  • You know how to motivate and develop your teams, and foster a high-performance sustainable culture
  • You communicate clearly, act on your own initiative, and lead your teams with empathy and a focus on goals
  • You develop clear architectural and strategic visions, translating them into actionable technical strategies
  • You think in a customer- and business-oriented way, making decisions based on customer benefit, security, performance, and ROI
  • You have solid full-stack experience, and a deep understanding of scalable, modular software architectures
  • You have practical experience with cloud technologies (e.g. GCP), infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform), and modern deployment and operating models
  • You are willing to travel frequently between Munich and Berlin
  • Enjoying your work is important to you, and you speak fluent German and English
