You take end-to-end ownership of the technological direction of our fast-growing e-commerce business. In Berlin, two cross-functional teams from Business, Product & Tech (called crews) own our e-commerce products end to end — in way of "you build it, you run it".

In this role, you make strategic architecture and technology decisions, ensure the long-term technical sustainability of the products, and act as the top technical decision-maker for the domain. 
You are a trusted sparring partner for Product and Business and connect technology, strategy, and value creation.

YOUR TASKS

  • Own the technical vision, architecture, and platform strategy for the Digital Sales domain
  • Make and represent key technology and architecture decisions with long-term impact
  • Ensure scalability, stability, security, and sustainable cost efficiency
  • Translate company and business goals into clear technical direction
  • Work closely with Product and Business as a strategic sparring partner
  • Lead engineering crews
  • Establish engineering standards, governance, and clear decision-making structures


YOUR PROFILE

  • Several years of experience in a similar senior leadership role with deep technical decision-making, ideally in e-commerce or retail
  • Willingness to travel frequently between Munich and Berlin
  • Proven ownership of a domain or platform strategy
  • Strong in architecture, technology selection, and strategic prioritization
  • Ideally, a software engineering background
  • Strong business understanding and decision-making skills
  • Experience with scalable architectures, cloud platforms (e.g. GCP), and modern deployment and operating models
  • Clear leadership mindset, strong communication skills, and a sense of ownership
  • You value enjoying your work and speak fluent German and English
